AFRICAN WARS IN THE 21ST CENTURY: POST-COVID-19 EMERGING TRENDS CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES WORKSHOP REPORT
The pandemic presents an opportunity for Africa to reassess the strengths of its current institutions. On October 6, 2021, a workshop was held, inviting participants to focus on the dynamics imposed by the pandemic on institutions, communities, and governance across the region. The three workshop sessions were moderated by CSAAD’s Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr. Olajumoke Ayandele, and Assistant Professor at Salve Regina University, Dr. Yvan Ilunga. This event was organized by CSAAD, in collaboration with the Center for Global Affairs, the Initiative for the Study of Emerging Threats, the Joint Civil-Military Interaction (JCMI) Research Education Network, and the Center on International Cooperation.
This report is designed to be forward-looking and discusses the various presentations from each workshop session, identifying current and emerging trends, as well as opportunities for local, state, and regional stakeholders in building a stable and prosperous Africa in a post-COVID-19 world.
